When a rider sits on a Chanterellyn II skibob, the seat travels through the first 2-4 inches of seat travel, depending on how stiff the ride has been set by the amount of air pressure in the adjustable air suspension component.  The the angle of the front and rear ShroomBob skis with respect to the snow surface is fully adjustable, and is preset without a rider on the skibob with just 5 inches of the tip of the front ski and 5 inches of the the tail of the rear ski resting on a groomed snow surface surface.  Once the rider is seated, and the 4-bar suspension compresses the Chanterellyn II skibob into the front and rear skis the entire length of both skis is on the groomed snow surface, presetting the skis - ready for carving turns.

The soft, plush feel of 4-bar suspension, provides even the beginner a smooth effortless ride, AND for more aggressive riders as seat travel increases the 4-bar suspension progressively provides for stiffer suspension to smoothly absorb bumps and jumps without the suspension bottoming out.  Using air suspension components with rebound control, the relative stiffness and return speed of the Chanterellyn II suspension can be modified in the field, for different riders with varying weights or skibobbing styles, or for changing snow conditions, simply by changing the air pressure of the suspension component.  Front suspension is provided by top of the line full suspension bicycle forks with 120 cm or more of suspension travel.
